1. Recruit - verb - enlist someone into the armed forces 

2. Complicit - adjective - involved with others in an activity that is unlawful or morally wrong 

3. Vilified - verb - speak or write about in an abusively disparaging manner 

4. Laud - verb - to praise someone highly 

5. Shame - noun - a painful feeling of humiliation or distress caused by the consciousness of wrong or foolish behavior 

6. tight-knit - adjective phrase - bound together by strong relationships and common interests
